Why Micro-Sampling
- Fewer mice used (3 mice per route for 6-7 time points instead of 18-21 in the classical composite mouse PK)
- Higher PK resolution since a full PK profile can be obtained from a single mouse
- Reduced experimental compound requirement (10 times less than a typical PK assay in rats)
- Higher resolution and the reduced number of animals used allow PK profiling in more expensive mouse strains (e.g., nude or transgenic).
